The Scottish Ahlul Bayt Society (SABS) and the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) were privileged to have hosted a delegation of religious and civic leaders at the Jack Copland Centre.

The Jack Copeland Centre is the national Headquarters of the SNBTS, and is the seat of the Service’s core research and development function which ensures the provision of their state-of-the-art blood supply operations across the country.

SABS and the SNBTS, in their partnership to improve public understanding of the need for blood donation and to bolster donor recruitment efforts across society, invited a delegation of faith and civic leaders to the Jack Copland Centre. The delegation and all parties present reaffirmed their commitment to working to encourage blood donation, and paid tribute to the work of the SNBTS.

Our thanks to go to all at the SNBTS and the Jack Copland Centre for their crucial efforts, and to the attendees, including: the Rt Hon Lord Provost and Lord Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh, Frank Ross, the Right Reverend Colin Sinclair, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, the Reverend Dr George Whyte, Principal Clerk, General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, Dr Pete Cheema OBE,Scottish Grocers’ Federation (SGF), Gillian Gallacher, Celtic FC Foundation, Penelope Blackwell, the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund (SCIAF), Craig Wilson, Big Hearts Community Trust, Jordon Boyd, Rangers Charity Foundation, Derek Allison, the Scottish Professional Football League Trust (The SPFL Trust).

And a special thanks to Esther Nisbet from SNBTS for having made some delicious cakes which did the rounds of the whole Centre!
